DOUBLE FILAMENT BULB

The invention of the light bulb has been considered one of the brightest ideas of mankind. Wide doors were opened for the electrical luminary field, which literally changed the way we lead our life at home and at work.

This invention marked the beginning of the industrial revolution.
However, the original product has hardly been modified and new energy and environmental trends are presenting new challenges.

FACTS:
1. People like the warm light of an incandescent lamp. More than 95% of incandescent lamps are used in electrical luminary.

2. Even though the Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) has higher efficiency (lumens/watt), it covers only 5% of electrical illumination market. The reasons are many. The phosphorus light radiation is unnatural and disliked by many. It contains environmentally hazardous material. Mercury and has many health concerns. Dimmer switch may not be used on most of the CFLs. The cost of a good CFL is several times more than an incandescent bulb.

3. However, in any Incandescent Bulb the filament represents about 15% of the manufacturing costs. The glass bulb, metal cap, epoxy, solder, raw material and energy used in making the bulb are the remaining 85%. But when this 15% cost filament burns out, people throw away the whole bulb including the good 85%.

This creates monumental waste of good raw materials and the energy used to manufacture the bulb. The landfill problem is another environmental concern.

SOLUTION:
The Double Filament Bulb has incorporated a second filament in the same bulb. When the first filament is fused (burns out), the consumer can activate the second filament and continue to use the same light bulb one more time.

EASY TO OPERATE
Once the first filament burns out:
* Remove the bulb from the socket (as you do for a regular bulb)
* Push the tiny metal strip to the other side.

This completes electrical circuit for the second filament instead of driving to buy a new bulb.
